Safety is the first consideration at Ransburg Scout Reservation ranges. When visiting a range, listen carefully to all instructions from the Range Safety Officers. The Range Safety Officers are certified in the use of all firearms at our ranges.

Scouts can earn Archery, Rifle Shooting, or Shotgun Shooting Merit Badges at Shooting Sports. Open Program is also available in Archery and Rifle for interested Scouts. Fully enclosed shoes are required for all participants at the Ransburg ranges. Adult Archery shoot has been traditionally offered one night a week.

We use .22 caliber, single-shot, bolt-action rifles and 12-gauge shotguns. Optional, yet highly recommended, shooting practice is offered daily at 2:00 pm for Merit Badge participants. Experience indicates that Scouts wanting to earn these Merit Badges should plan on attending these sessions.
