Campsites
This section provides information on what you will find in a typical campsite, how to select a campsite, and tenting policies.
Typical Campsite
Ransburg Scout Reservation provides quality equipment and a prepared campsite for each Troop in camp. We believe that your campsite is your home while here at camp, so we ensure that your Troop has top of the line equipment by rotating out equipment each year. Each campsite is fully equipped with the following items:
Wall tents on platforms
Cot for each participant
2” mattress for each cot
Permanent shelter
Multiple picnic tables
Solar lights in the shelter and latrine
Campfire ring(s)
Flag pole with American Flag
Broom and hose at the latrine
In addition, each campsite has access to the following conveniently located facilities, which have multiple locations along each ridge:
Latrines with running water, toilet paper and cleaning supplies with solar lighting. Each latrine has individual and fully private rooms. A broom and hose are also available at each ridge latrine. Your ridge latrine will be shared with one or two other campsites.
Campfire rings with larger gathering areas (in addition to your campsite’s fire ring).
Additional equipment is available for checkout from the Quartermaster (such as Dutch ovens, cook kits, stoves, water jugs, coolers, etc.).
Selecting a Campsite
Step 1: Determine the estimated number of Scouts and Adults attending
Step 2: Discuss your Troop’s priorities
How many tents are you going to need? What is the campsite capacity of the campsite that I am looking at?
Where in camp would you like to be located? How do the merit badges our Scouts might sign-up for impact this decision?
How much additional space would you like to have in your campsite?
How close to the shower and restroom facilities would you like to be?
Step 3: Review the camp map and interactive photos (coming soon)
Campsites are modular in nature and your Troop can add additional sites to accommodate for additional Scouts/Leaders
Step 4: Make your reservation!
If you need assistance answering questions such as “which site has ample open space”, give us a call or send us an email! We would be glad to answer all questions and recommend a campsite that will fit your needs.
Tent Policies
